I heart Balmain

Since first setting eyes upon the bleached denim and structured shouldered jackets of Balmain's 2009 S/S catwalk, I've had an undying love for the French fashion house. Under the creative direction of Christophe Decarnin from 2005 until Balmain's 2011 A/W show, the fashion house took an edgier direction.

A brave move considering the fashion houses' founder and his predecessors created luxurious, classical designs which gained founder, Pierre Balmain, the title of "King of French fashion"? Decarnin created clothes that provided its wearers a 'don't mess with me' attitude, which thankfully were a hit with press and fashion-types. Moreover Balmain became a fashion house the high street turned to for inspiration. I remember, after seeing the 2009 S/S show, bleached and distressed denim, structured shoulders and military style jackets cropping up across various high street brands.

Studs, sequins, padded out shoulders, body-con dresses and distressed denim
have been Balmain's signature style since Decarnin took to the helm, so after his abrupt resignation, rumoured to be down to health issues, what could we come to expect from his replacement
Olivier Rousteing?
At just 25 Rousteing made his creative debut, after spending two years
under Christophe Decarnin's guidance. The signature studs, sequins and
body-con remained a firm feature at Balmain, whilst some pieces took a
slightly western edge.

Obsessed with | Sweetheart Necklines

Sweetheart neckline dresses are the perfect party season dress. Flattering for almost every shape. Sexy enough for a night with the girls yet classy enough to wear to a works Christmas party.

I have spent my days recently lusting over pretty sweetheart neckline dresses, even the name is adorable. The sweetheart neckline is super flattering, drawing attention to the area in a classy manner. Wearing your neckline detail dress or top with a lace or net insert, like this Topshop version, will take you through the A/W party season. I'm head-over-heels in love with Miss Guided's sparkly, Christmas party version.

Will you be investing in a sweetheart neckline for the upcoming party season?

Top New Look (old), Shorts H&M, Loafers Tesco.

In my continuing quest to re-discover old pieces in my wardrobe rather than buying new bits I came across this top. Long forgotten about, this top is about two years old I think, this top was only £6 then. I thought it looked quite nice paired with these H&M shorts which I bought over the Summer. I love the fit of these shorts, unlike some high waisted shorts I've tried in the past these don't make my behind look 10x bigger than it actually is. They also have some really cute details, like the patterned pockets that peep through the end and the turquoise button.

I spent my morning sending emails and calling around PR companies in search of a new internship (any PR companies in Sussex reading this, call me guyz), and popped to Tesco to buy my mumsie some bits and pieces - nothing thrilling.

How has everyone's Monday been? Would you like to see more outfits posts from me?

Don't get so close to change my mind

A little snippet of my new coat I picked up in Primark a couple of weeks ago, whilst I was supposed to be trying to help my friend buy a new coat (always happens)!

Sometimes we don't take the time to pause.
To appreciate where we are, and what we are lucky enough to have.
A constant need to be busying ourselves in life.
A fear of missing out on an oppourtunity or chance.
Rather than enjoying the moment.
Oh hello my mug all over your screens, soz. Feeling a little pensive on this rainy, murky day. Trying to decide my next move after finishing my internship this week!
Anyway, onto this barg of a coat. It was one of those dreamy finds. I saw it, hanging there calling my name across the hustle and bustle of Primark, but the price tag (£18) forced me to walk away. Upon doing a secondary lap, amust to ensure you haven't missed any must haves, I spotted a sign I'd clearly missed on my previous visit.

Blazoned across the top of dream coat's stand. Instantly I nabbed my size and headed for the closet mirror. It was like love at first sight, and we plan to have a long, loving relationship. At least until the sun graces us with some warmth again.
